About Us
At Precision Tree Experts, we are truly passionate about the science of plant health care and its application to preserve the beauty and strength of your trees. We geek out on it. That’s why we never charge for full property reviews* and provide detailed recommendations that will help you understand your options and prioritize the needs of your trees. We’re one of very few companies to have a Board Certified Master Arborist on staff (and he actually does the work!).
We are a FULL SERVICE company. We prune, we plant, we remove. We treat for insects and disease. We fertilize. We monitor soil moisture, and install supplemental support systems for hazardous trees. If we don’t have the answer, then we will find it with a full complement of soil and plant analysis laboratories at our disposal. As a Registered Consulting Arborist, John can also be relied on for expert testimony and official forensic reporting.
Located in Idyllwild, we are particularly concerned with the health and longevity of the forest there. It seems every year there is some new threat. Gold Spotted Oak Borer, Black Pineleaf Scale, five different species of Pine Bark Beetle, wind and snow failures… the list goes on and on. We’re here to help. We speak for the trees, and they say, “Life is Good”.
*free property reviews are available only for properties located within one hour’s drive of Idyllwild, CA. Outside this distance, minimum charges MAY apply.
OUR BOARD CERTIFIED MASTER ARBORIST:
John Huddleston has been dedicated to the care and study of trees since 2002, when his home town of Idyllwild, CA, experienced the beginning of a devastating pine bark beetle epidemic that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of pine trees. After becoming skilled in the removal of these giant trees, (sometimes growing through the middles of people’s homes!) John became a Certified Arborist in 2006, in hopes of learning how to preserve some of them for the future. John has been to several hurricane relief efforts, starting in 2003, and has attained the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification as well as become a Certified Treecare Safety Professional through the TCIA. In 2015, John joined less than 600 professionals, worldwide, as a Board Certified Master Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture. More recently, in 2017, John became a Registered Consulting Arborist, through the American Society of Consulting Arborists, joining the less than 80 individuals, worldwide, to hold both BCMA and RCA credentials simultaneously. Although his diverse expertise has taken him all over the country, outbreaks of disease and invasive insects called him back home to Idyllwild, CA, where he has based his company, Precision Tree Experts.
